Ms. Yaques is a shareholder in the Firm. Her practice areas include Commercial Litigation, Land Use, Employment Litigation, Community Association Litigation and Equine Law.
Ms. Yaques has been involved in representing clients in various forums throughout the United States and in Florida. The representation includes Fair Labor Standards Act claims, Florida Wage Act claims, whistleblower claims, trademark litigation, lender disputes, real estate litigation including mortgage foreclosure, unfair and deceptive trade practices, RICO claims, foreign corrupt practices, usury, licensing violations, business torts, consumer protection statutes, land use disputes, insurance disputes, municipal issues and various disputes involving Wellington’s equestrian industry.
Ms. Yaques has also represented and advised various real estate developers and property owners in the development of property, zoning and other governmental approvals, turnover of residential communities, and other issues arising out of the real estate development process.
In addition, Ms. Yaques has represented clients in defense of class actions, and has successfully defeated class action claims.
Ms. Yaques has also conducted internal investigations for multinational companies and has represented parties in SEC enforcement actions.
Ms. Yaques has handled all phases of litigation, including oral arguments on motions, evidentiary hearings, jury trials and appeals to both federal and state appellate courts.
